Dr. Alma RegnaultDr. Alma Regnault was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and raised in Weston and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Medicine and Biology from Nova Southeastern University in 2002 before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry.
While growing up in Weston, Dr. Regnault gained her first hands-on experience in optometry working at Weston Eye Care under the guidance of Dr. Luisa Del Toro when the practice first opened. This early exposure sparked her lifelong passion for eye care and ultimately led her back to serve the same community that inspired her journey.
During optometry school, Dr. Regnault was actively involved in leadership and service. She participated in VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity), traveling to the Dominican Republic to provide eye care to underserved communities. She served as an AOSA trustee, becoming the first student from her university to represent the school at the American Optometric Association Congressional Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C. As class president, she delivered the commencement speech for the graduating class of 2009 and received both the Dean Leadership Award and the Advocacy Leadership Award.
Dr. Regnault has collaborated with respected optometrists and ophthalmologists across New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Puerto Rico. In 2010, she relocated to the New York metropolitan area, serving as Lead Doctor and Clinical Director for an IDRX practice in New Jersey. She later became Managing Doctor of the LensCrafters West Village location in Manhattan.
In 2013, Dr. Regnault appeared as an eye care correspondent on CNN Español’s Dr. Azaret Show. She later served as a spokesperson at the United Nations for the Permanent Missions of Cape Verde and Ivory Coast, advocating for global eye health awareness.
Today, Dr. Regnault is proud to be the owner of Weston Eye Care Center, where she provides comprehensive eye exams, medical eye care, and advanced dry eye treatment. As a trusted Dry Eye Optometrist in Weston, FL, she specializes in the diagnosis and management of dry eye disease using advanced technology, including OptiLight® and OptiLift® by Lumenis.
Dr. Regnault lives in Pembroke Pines with her husband, daughters, and their beloved Boston Terrier. Outside the office, she enjoys Flamenco dancing, traveling, and spending quality time with her family.
